Highwood Botanical Grove
As a result of several emails we found out that possibly signs that dealt with plants of the Expedition were installed in six Chouteau County communities during the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial. "Lewis and Clark Botanical Groves" were created and sign placed in Highwood, with additional locations being in Virgelle, Fort Benton, Geraldine, Loma and Big Sandy. However the five additional sites have not been found. Apparently the Fort Benton Community Improvement Association is responsible for the signs.
Tiber Dam Overlook
I was just told about a location on the north shore of the Marias River overlooking Tiber Dam. This is a Bureau of Outdoor Recreation site that was cooperatively developed with the Marias River Chapter of the LCTHF in Chester during the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial.
The site is in need of repair. Necessary discussions will begin in the Spring.
